A Spanish developer called Gamesa is planning to build SEVEN x 123m turbines between Watford, Long Buckby Wharf and Murcott. They also intend to build a 80m high meteorological mast. You only have until November 22nd to object And this is not the only windfarm planned locally: there are also5 x 125m turbines at Watford Lodge which is currently at appeal stage with a decision due December 23rd, 2 x 71m high turbines that have been approved at White Barn Farm near Long Buckby station, and 2 x 24.5m high turbines that have been approved at Two Hides Farm in Watford. This means there could be 16 turbines in our immediate area, and a further 30 more nearby: 8 at Winwick (at appeal stage), 11 at Yelvertoft (permission granted, 7 at Lilbourne (rejected by DDC but may go to appeal) and Crick (2 at DIRFT – already built as well as a new application for 2 by Airvolution).
